Designed to minimize post-column dead volume and ensure optimal peak integrity, these tips are the gold standard for high-resolution, low-flow separations. Our NanoESI Tips are tailored to match the mobile phase flow rate during analytical separation, ensuring minimal dispersion and maximum sensitivity.
In nanoscale LC-MS workflows, especially with small ID columns and low flow rates, improper emitter design can lead to significant peak broadening. Narrow peaks from small particle columns are highly vulnerable to emitter-induced broadening. That’s why emitter design isn’t just important — it’s essential.
NanoESI Spray Tips specifications
Sothis Separations’ NanoESI Spray Tips are precision-crafted gold and carbon-coated fused silica emitters, engineered for seamless integration with ultra-low flow LC-MS systems. Designed to deliver optimal electrospray performance across a range of flow regimes, these tips combine conductivity, durability and minimal dead volume for uncompromised analytical sensitivity. The NanoESI Spray Tips are butt-connected to the Analytical Column preferably using a 1/16-in. OD × 0.012-in. ID PTFE sleeve (e.g., Supelco® Part Number 58702):

- Material: Gold and conductive carbon coating on fused silica for enhanced ruggedness and extended lifetime
- Flow Compatibility:
- Ultra Nano-flow HPLC: 10 µm ID × 360 µm OD, tapered to 2 ± 0.2 µm, void volume 0.8 nL/cm
- Nano-flow HPLC: 25 µm ID × 360 µm OD, tapered either to 3.5 ± 0.5 µm or to 5 ± 0.5 µm, void volume 5 nL/cm
- Micro-flow HPLC: 50 µm ID × 360 µm OD, tapered to 10 ± 0.5 µm, void volume 20 nL/cm
- Length: Standard 5 cm, customizable by trimming the proximal end
- ESI Onset Voltage: 1.6–1.7 kV in nanoscale LC systems running water+0.1 vol% formic acid
These tips are ideal for high-resolution separations requiring minimal dispersion and are recommended for use with our Deans Column Switching System.
